He holds his Associate in Music degree from Pasadena City College where he studied flute with Boglárka Kiss and received his Bachelor in Music degree from the California State University of Northridge, cum laude, where he studied under the tutelage of Heather Clark.
Haziel began teaching in 2016. He is currently the Flute/Woodwind Instructor at North Hollywood High School and Walter Reed Middle School. Haziel has always been an avid volunteer in the community, and he continues his service work as the Assistant Program Director at L.A.C.E.R, a non-profit organization that provides free middle and high school students in Los Angeles with free performing/visual arts, athletics, and academic activities after school. The ultimate goal is to allow young people the opportunity to expand their learning, improve their skills and develop new ones in a safe, supportive setting. Within this program, he frequently works with young flutists, musicians, and young artists.
Haziel has received significant recognition for his skills on both flute and piccolo. He has previously won the Pasadena City College Concerto Competition in 2017 and has received many honors such as the Music Teacher Association Award, Jonathan Kenion Music Award, PCC Orchestra Honors, and others. He has performed in multiple masterclasses with renown flutists such as Anne Zentner, Ian Clarke, Carol Wincec, Nicola Mazzanti, Gary Woodward, among others. Additionally, he was also accepted into the “21st Century Flutist” program in 2018 where he studied and performed for many reputable flutists from around the world.
Outside of professional commitments, Haziel loves going on morning runs, practicing yoga, appreciating nature, and watching movies!
